Two popular chains have officially joined the lineup at Clifton Park Center. Cold Stone Creamery and Wetzel's Pretzels are now serving shoppers, giving visitors two new spots to grab a sweet treat or savory snack.

Cold Stone Creamery is known for its made-to-order ice cream creations, where guests can customize their dessert with mix-ins folded into the ice cream on a frozen granite stone. The menu also features signature creations, shakes, smoothies, ice cream cakes, and other frozen desserts.

Wetzel's Pretzels has also opened its doors, bringing its first Capital Region location to Clifton Park. Guests can choose from freshly baked original and flavored soft pretzels, Pretzel Bitz, pretzel dogs, sweet cinnamon treats, frozen drinks, and fresh lemonade.

To celebrate the openings, both businesses are hosting a grand opening event from July 3 through July 5. The celebration will include giveaways, family-friendly activities, music, face painting, balloon artists, and a prize wheel from noon to 4:00 p.m. each day. The first 100 guests daily can also receive a free Like It-size Cold Stone ice cream or an order of Wetzel's Pretzel Bitz.

Thrift Shoppers, Take Note: Goodwill Is Coming to Clifton Park

Bargain hunters and thrift shoppers will soon have a new destination in Clifton Park. A Goodwill store and donation center is expected to open on July 18 at Village Plaza and The Shops on Clifton Country Road.

According to reporting from the Times Union, the new location will occupy the former JoAnn Fabrics storefront at 19 Clifton Country Road. The 6,000-square-foot space will serve as both a retail store and a donation drop-off site for the nonprofit organization.

Shoppers can expect a constantly changing selection of pre-owned and new clothing for women, men, and children, along with home goods. Like other Goodwill stores, the inventory will rotate regularly, creating a treasure-hunt experience for visitors looking for unique finds and affordable deals.

The upcoming store is also expected to bring new jobs to the community. Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey plans to hire more than 20 employees ahead of the opening. The nonprofit's mission focuses on keeping reusable items out of landfills while supporting job training and employment opportunities for people facing barriers to work.

Once open, the Clifton Park location will welcome shoppers seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. With opening day just around the corner and special promotions expected to be announced closer to launch, local thrift enthusiasts have another reason to mark their calendars this summer.
