The Universality of Katrina Trask: Staged Conversation & Living History Performance

About this event

On Thursday, November 5, 2026, step into the world of Katrina Trask, one of Saratoga Springs’ most visionary figures, in this intimate and thought-provoking staged conversation presented by the Saratoga Springs History Museum.

Best known as the founder of the Yaddo Artist Residency, which began welcoming artists 100 years ago in 1926, Katrina Trask’s influence extended far beyond the arts. A poet, philanthropist, spiritual thinker, and civic leader, Mrs. Trask dedicated her life to nurturing creativity, social good, and the cultural future of Saratoga Springs.

This performance marks the final installment in a beloved series of staged conversations with the “Lady of Yaddo,” offering audiences a reflective and richly human portrait of Trask’s ideals, passions, and enduring hopes for her community. Through dialogue and storytelling, her wide-ranging projects, personal convictions, and forward-thinking vision are brought vividly to life.

Portrayed by Lezlie Dana as Katrina Trask, with Rumara Jewett appearing as a close friend and conversational companion, this evening blends history and performance into an engaging, accessible experience. Whether you are a longtime admirer of Yaddo, a lover of Saratoga history, or simply curious about the woman behind one of America’s most important artist communities, this program offers a meaningful and memorable encounter.
