About this event

Birds are the living descendants of the one lineage of dinosaurs that didn’t go extinct 66 million years ago. Meet NYSM Ornithologist and Curator Dr. Jeremy Kirchman in the Gone Forever section of our Birds of New York exhibition to learn about the bird species we lost to extinction in the 19th and 20th centuries. Then, discover the species that were brought back from the brink of extinction in the 1970s and 1980s by the heroic efforts of New York conservation biologists!
