Albany Figure Skating Competition November 6, 2010

Clifton Park NY - Enjoy an afternoon watching top skaters in the area compete for the gold! The 4th annual Open and Basic Skills Competition will be held at the Clifton Park Ice Arena on November 6th, 2010. Come see talented young skaters of all levels twirl, jump and compete on the ice!

This competition will feature more than 80 skaters of all ages and levels performing in 43 different events. Participants must be amateur skaters and in good standing with US Figure Skating.

Participants will be representing 18 different skating clubs throughout the capital region and the Northeast. They will represent skating clubs from Albany, Brewster, Fairport, Lake Placid, Massena, Morrisville, New York, Newburgh, Rensselaer, Rome, Saranac Lake, Saratoga Springs, Skaneateles, Troy, Pittsfield, Mass., Burlington, Vt. and, for the first time, Bulgarian and Mexican associations!

Performance times run from 8am to 5pm and spectators are FREE!

Interested in learning to skate? The Albany Figure Skating Club encourages and develops the skills of young skaters in the area. They offer many programs and classes for all ages. They even have an adult beginner's class and a special hockey program for all levels!
