Fiction Workshop: Finding Fiction Everywhere

About this event

You don't have to wait around for story ideas: almost anything—a strange fact, an overheard phrase, an object, a memory, a dream, a sentence in a book—can become a portal into fiction. In this generative workshop, we'll practice taking material from the world around us and transposing it into characters, scenes, voices, and forms that may bear little resemblance to where they began. You'll leave with several new pieces of writing and a set of playful practices for finding fiction wherever you happen to be.
