Another fortunate thing about living in Clifton Park is its outstanding public school district - Shenendehowa. Since 1950 the SCSD has been meeting the educational needs of the children and teenagers in Clifton Park and surrounding towns. This has been one of the major reasons that the town has grown as well as it has.

Today, Shenendehowa serves over 9,800 students in Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Ballston Lake, Malta and Round Lake, as well as in the bordering regions of Jonesville, Mechanicville, Rexford, Stillwater and Waterford NY. They offer a full curriculum for grades K - 12 (Kindergarten is currently running on half days). As a district that strives to create an educational environment for children of all ages and learning abilities, Shenendehowa provides a large number of beneficial programs and services, including Special Education and Gifted and Talented Programs. Shenendehowa is a busing district.

The focal point of the school district is its sprawling 232 acre main campus, located at 970 Route 146 in Clifton Park, NY. The campus is home to Shenendehowa High School, the districts 3 Middle Schools and 4 of the 8 Elementary Schools. The remaining 4 Elementary Schools are located within the regions of Clifton Park that they cover. There are full cafeterias in each school.

Shenendehowa is also home to a terrific Athletic Departmentthat supports programs for boys and girls from the Middle Schools and High School. Also found within the environment of the SCSD is a very active and supportive PTA, and well as a high energy alumni group. For a variety of reasons, some Clifton Park students and their families choose to go to other schools in the region. There are a number of good private schools within driving distance, and they include:
