About this event

Led using the Epilepsy Foundation’s approved guidelines, this session will help participants recognize different types of seizures and learn how to respond safely and effectively when someone is having a seizure. Through clear explanations and practical guidance, you’ll gain a better understanding of what seizures and epilepsy are, learn the correct (and incorrect) steps to take during a seizure, and know when it’s important to call emergency services. Most importantly, this training is designed to build confidence—so you feel prepared to help calmly and compassionately if a seizure occurs at home, work, school, or in the community. No prior medical experience is required, and all are welcome. Please register online. This course awards an optional certification in Seizure First Aid issued by the Epilepsy Foundation of America, valid for two years. In order to receive the certification, participants are required to complete a pre-test, a 90-minute course, and a post-test (must pass test at 80%).
