Elixir of Love with Tom Denny

About this event

Each of the two sessions (June 10 & June 17) can be enjoyed on its own, but the two together will complement and build on each other. Opera Saratoga will be performing Elixir of Love four times during its annual summer festival at Universal Preservation Hall: June 21, June 23, June 25 & June 27 Registration not required but recommended for an email reminder!

What to Expect

• The program features a guest speaker or lecturer presenting a specific topic.
• The talk is moderated by library staff.
• The presentation may include spoken lectures, storytelling, or slides.
• Time may be reserved at the end for questions and discussion, but participation is optional.
• You are welcome to listen quietly without participating.
• You may arrive late or leave early if needed.
• There is no expectation of prior knowledge about the topic.
• The library moderates discussions to support respectful dialogue but may not endorse all viewpoints expressed.

Sensory Information

• The program takes place in a shared indoor event space.
• Seating is library-style (chairs in rows or semi-circles).
• Lighting is standard indoor lighting; lights may be dimmed or off during slides or videos.
• The speaker may use a microphone or amplified sound.
• The speaker may move around the room.
• Slides, images, or videos may be projected on a screen.
• Audience noise is typically low, with occasional applause or questions.

Sensory Supports

• Listening without speaking or asking questions is always welcome.
• You may step out, take breaks, or move seating as needed.
• Fidget tools, notebooks, or quiet sensory items are welcome.
• Closed captions, printed materials, or visual aids will be available when possible.
• Additional accessibility support may be available—please ask library staff.
