Neurodiversity Club: Bead Fidgets

Kids and teens in grades K-12 who are neurodivergent, plus their friends and families, are invited to join us at Neurodiversity Club. Have fun and make connections in a welcoming environment.

About this event

Make a key chain or bracelet fidget out of beads and cord, or choose from various self-directed activities such as LEGOS, coloring, and play dough. Please register online. Co-Sponsored by SUNY Empire State University Center for Autism Advocacy: Research, Education, & Supports (CAARES)

What to Expect:

  • This is a largely self-directed program where kids get to choose the activity they want to do. 
  • Join us at any time during the hour long program, and leave whenever you are ready.
  • Each month there is a special activity, which is optional.
  • Other activities available include LEGOs, magnetic marble run set, blocks, coloring, doing mazes and crossword puzzles, playing board games, using play dough, dancing, and moving. 
  • Play with others or by yourself.
  • Feel free to watch the activities and join in later.

Sensory Information

  • This program is sometimes loud and high energy, and sometimes calmer depending on who joins us.
  • Music is on during the program. 

Supports 

  • Noise cancelling headphones and fidgets are welcome. A limited number are available to use during the program, or bring your own.
  • Movement and stimming are welcome.
