Grown-Up Story Time

About this event

This program is great for neurodivergent adults, adults learning English, or any adult nostalgic for their childhood going to story time at the library! Teens are also welcome.

What to Expect: 

• A librarian will read picture books out loud to the group.
• A librarian will lead a group singalong or movement activity. You do not have to participate if you don't want to, or participate in any way you want.
• Scarves and egg shakers will be available to express ourselves during song time and you are welcome to dance or move your body along to the music if you like. 
• After the story time, you may stay to hang out with others, enjoy some time to yourself, or color.  

Sensory Information:

• A librarian will be reading loudly to the group.
• Song time may include a recorded music track.
• Lighting is standard indoor lighting.

Sensory Supports:

• Fidget tools or quiet sensory items are welcome.
• You are welcome to take breaks or step out if you need to.
• Staff are happy to help with seating preferences when possible.
• You are welcome to bring headphones, ear plugs, sunglasses, or a hat if you like.
