About this event

Step back in time and celebrate over a century of Saratoga Springs history at the 142nd Annual Meeting & Special Presentation of the Saratoga Springs History Museum. This year’s gathering promises an evening filled with stories, discovery, and a deeper appreciation for the community’s remarkable past.

The evening begins with a brief meeting on the state of the museum, including updates on current initiatives, programs, and future plans.

Following the meeting, Executive Director James Parillo will present “To Collect, Preserve, and Exhibit: The Founding of the Saratoga Springs History Museum.”

Through engaging storytelling and rare historical insights, Parillo will bring to life the origins of the Historical Society—founded in 1883 by thirteen forward-thinking citizens who sought to safeguard Saratoga’s legacy for generations to come. Discover how their vision evolved, how the organization’s name and mission transformed over the decades, and how the museum became the cultural cornerstone it is today.

This special presentation coincides with the debut of the museum’s newest exhibition, The Founders, which showcases early artifacts, photographs, and documents from the Society’s formative years. Guests will have the opportunity to see seldom-displayed items from the museum’s earliest collections and learn the untold stories of those who shaped Saratoga Springs’ identity.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to the museum, this evening is a perfect way to connect with local history, meet fellow history enthusiasts, and gain a new appreciation for Saratoga’s enduring legacy.

Admission:

  • $10 for the General Public
