Friday, May 3rd
If you love craft beer, plan a trip to Albany this weekend! Albany Craft Beer Week is underway through Saturday, May 4, and local establishments are offering beer-themed events and drink specials. It’s a great time to taste new brews and experience Albany’s craft beer scene.
Take a trip to the East Greenbush Community Library and stock up on books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs at their Spring Book and Media Sale. You’ll find bargains throughout the weekend, as well as unadvertised specials on Saturday.
Saturday, May 4th
Head to the Sportsplex of Halfmoon this weekend and explore the children’s consignment sale for fantastic deals on sports equipment, clothing, shoes, books, toys, and more. Admission is free, and over 80,000 items will be available for purchase.
Visit Wiswall Park in Ballston Spa this Saturday and check out the 2nd Annual Ballston Spa Birdhouse Festival. You can enjoy music, booths, crafts, and more from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
The 4th Annual Learn to Fish Day in Clifton Park will take place on Saturday from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Barney Road Park & Pool – Eastern Shoreline. Open to all ages, this free fishing day is presented by the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. No freshwater fishing license is required to join in the fun.
Join the Hispanic Apostolate and Knights of Columbus of St. Edward’s Catholic Church at their 2nd Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in Clifton Park on Saturday night. The Fiesta will be held after Mass and feature an authentic Latin meal, music, a dancing performance, and children’s games.
To raise funds in support of Common Roots Brewing in South Glens Falls, SingleCut North in Clifton Park will host a Rising From the Ashes festival this Saturday from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A great lineup of brewers will be participating in the event, and net proceeds will benefit the Staff fund for Common Roots.
Bring your dog to the Olde English Downtown Dog Park in Albany and kick off the Downtown Albany Pup Crawl. There will be a Star Wars-themed canine costume contest, dog-centric vendors, a paw-painting activity, and special deals and giveaways at participating local businesses.

On Sunday, Union College in Schenectady will host their first ever Electric City Mini Maker Faire at the Frank L. Messa Rink. This fun and educational event is open to the public and will include local makers, small businesses, high school and middle school STEAM programs, libraries, and more.
