Earth Day is on Sunday! Are you doing anything fun to celebrate? Volunteer events are happening throughout the Capital Region and there are also fun kids events going on, two different festivals to check out, an outdoor adventure park opening, and one more event you might want to stop by.

Unbelievable Earth Day Fun
Clifton Park River, Parks, and Trails Clean Sweep
Saturday, April 21
Who’s ready to clean up Clifton Park? The annual cleanup day in honor of Earth Day will consist of participants gathering at parks, nature preserves, and bike trails throughout Clifton Park in order to get the area in tip top shape for spring and summer recreation.
Sunday, April 22
Kids ages three and up can enjoy stories and crafts relating to Earth Day at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library.

You can celebrate Earth Day at Camp Saratoga in the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park. They’re starting the morning off with a 5K Fun Fitness Run/Walk with a number of activities following including an Earth Day Conservation Project and a ribbon cutting for the Wilton Bicentennial Trail.

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is hosting their annual Earth Day event, where various activities will be taking place for all ages and abilities. They provide lunch for the volunteers afterwards.

The super popular butterfly exhibit at the Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci) in Schenectady is coming to a close this weekend, so get out there and see it while you still can! Kids can watch butterflies at every stage of life, learn about what they eat, and more.
Sasha’s Superhero Run 5K & Kids Fun Run
Sunday, April 22
Runners, walkers, and superheroes are invited to participate in the annual Sasha’s Superhero Run 5K & Kids Fun Run in Mechanicville! This event is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and kids are encouraged to bring their superhero attitude and attire.

Saratoga Wine & Chocolate Festival
Saturday, April 21
The annual Saratoga Wine & Chocolate Festival is taking place this Saturday at the Saratoga Springs City Center. There will be a chocolate fountain, a free photobooth, and a complimentary “wine check.” Tickets are $35 or $10 for designated drivers.
Ballston Spa Birdhouse Competition Festival

Ballston Spa is hosting its first ever Birdhouse Competition Festival in Iron Springs Park. The village will be hosting over 100 birdhouses built and decorated by artists and craftspeople – even kids! – to celebrate community spirit and creativity.
