This is the weekend to really embrace winter in the Capital Region! In addition to Clifton Park Winterfest there are two other winter festivals worth checking out. The Times Union Home Expo is also this weekend, and there are a couple other events you might want to get the details on.

Town of Clifton Park 2018 Winterfest
Saturday, February 10
Winterfest is back! Winter activities, competitions, and family fun will be taking place. You can look forward to a Best Soup Contest, the annual Idol Singing Competition, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a winter nature tour at the town park, and face painting. Community groups will be on hand at Clifton Park Center, there will be activities taking place at Riverview Orchards, and more.
Winterfest at Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park
Saturday, February 10
Enjoy a full day of fun at Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park in Gansevoort with a snowshoe race, a bonfire with hot cocoa and s’mores, an animal tracking walk, a winter tree walk, activities at the Winter Lodge, and more. Snowshoes can be rented out for $5 and a range of sizes will be available from toddler through adult, so the whole family can get out there!
Capital Region Winter Festival
Saturday, February 10
The Muslim Community Center in Schenectady is hosting a winter festival with proceeds going towards the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the National Youth Internet Safety and Cyber-bullying Task Force; they’re also hosting a food drive. There will be a huge arts and crafts show with over 70 vendors and free food and snacks available.

Saratoga Frozen Springs Classic – Pond Hockey Tournament
Friday, February 9 to Sunday, February 11
The annual Frozen Springs Classic is back in Saratoga Spa State Park. Hockey games will be taking place on all three days, so come out to see the teams battling it out! On Friday there will be a DJ and on Saturday live music from The Refrigerators.

The Times Union Home Expo is going on all weekend at the Albany Capital Center, and admission is just $5 for adults on Friday, $8 on Saturday or Sunday, or you could buy a full weekend pass for $14. Kids under the age of 14 get in free with a paying adult.

Scout Troop 246 – Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, February 11
Don’t worry about making breakfast on Sunday morning – just head over to the Clifton Park Elks Lodge in Ballston Lake for a full pancake breakfast. There will be pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice, coffee, and more. The meal costs $6 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under and seniors. Proceeds go towards the local Boy Scouts troop to support their programs, activities, and equipment needs.

If you’re a computer coder, you’ll definitely want to check out the first ever Hack Tech Valley, happening at Schenectady County Community College. Teams will work together to develop an app for prizes – all night long! Meals, snacks, coffee, and energy drinks will be provided.
