Have you made your Labor Day Weekend plans yet? Three different fairs are happening in the area, along with First Friday in Ballston Spa, an excellent band performing at Upstate Concert Hall, and two scheduled hikes. Enjoy the long weekend in the Capital Region!
Fun with Fairs
You can choose from three different fairs to visit over the long weekend. The Schaghticoke Fair is about half an hour from Clifton Park, and the Fonda Fair and Columbia County Fair are each a little over 45 minutes away.

Rides, shows, agriculture, activities, and more can be found at the Schaghticoke Fair, which is the third oldest fair in New York State. Admission is $11 for adults and free for kids 13 and under.

You can see a talent show, a pageant, animal shows, a rodeo, and more exciting fun at the Fonda Fair. Admission is $10 for adults, $2 for kids 6 to 11, and kids under 6 are free.

Go for a Hike
Family Fun Hike at the Pine Bush

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is hosting an end of the summer family-friendly 1.4-mile hike. Get outdoors while the weather is still nice! The cost is $3 per person or $5 per family.
Ridge Run Hike at Moreau Lake State Park
Monday, September 4
Spend your Labor Day engaging in a moderate four-mile hike at Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort. Part of the hike is a bit steep but most of it is flat. You might get to see some wildlife!
