On Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:30 pm, Friends of Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library invite the community to join them for the Season 6 kickoff of Two Towns-One Book at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library. This season’s book is Noon at Tiffany’s by Echo Heron. A historical and biographical novel based on recently discovered letters written between 1888 and 1944, the book explores the fascinating and remarkable life of Clara Wolcott Driscoll, the hidden genius behind the iconic Tiffany lamps (and one of America’s most prolific female artists!).
The kickoff afternoon will feature Michael Barrett, Executive Director of the Burden Iron Works Museum. Barrett will be giving a presentation on the rich history of the Tiffany Company and local Tiffany treasures, including the windows of St. Paul’s and St. John’s churches in Troy.
Presentation Preview: The “Vision of the Holy City” in St. John’s in Troy is a world-famous window that made the cover of the New York Times when it was unveiled in 1899!
