Veterans Day is this Friday! Honor those who have served by attending a Veterans Day service or event this weekend. We’ve also rounded up two events/shows going on, and two fun events for kids. What are you going to be up to this weekend?

Ballston Spa Elks Breakfast Buffet
Sunday, November 13
The Elks Lodge in Ballston Spa is showing their support for veterans with a special breakfast buffet. Veterans can dine for free; adults are $7, seniors are $6, and children 10 and under are $5. This is an all-you-can-eat buffet with scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, French toast, pancakes, and eggs and omelets to order!
Albany’s Annual Veterans Day Parade
Friday, November 11
Come out to Albany for the 61st annual Veterans Day Parade! The parade is kicking off at the corner of Central Avenue and Ontario Street, and will continue down Washington Avenue to Hawk Street.
Veterans Day Ceremony at Maplewood Cemetery
Friday, November 11
Maplewood Cemetery in Saratoga is holding a Veterans Day service followed by a remembrance ceremony, a luncheon, and a Wall of Valor unveiling.
Veterans Day at the Saratoga Battlefield
Saturday, November 12
The Saratoga Battlefield in Stillwater is rich in history, and it’s the perfect place to host a Veterans Day ceremony. There will be musket demonstrations and discussions about the Revolutionary War American soldiers throughout the day.

Science Festival of the Capital Region Expo Days
Wednesday, November 9 to Sunday, November 13
The Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci) in Schenectady is hosting a Science Festival! On Friday there will be Science of Brewing where you can learn about how beer is brewed from local breweries. You can enjoy additional activities, workshops, demos, and more all weekend!
Friday, November 11 to Saturday, November 12
Into antiques? This is the event for you! The Albany Antique Show returns to the St. Sophia Greek Church on Whitehall Road. Over 40 antique dealers will be in attendance with pottery, collectibles, vintage jewelry, and more. Admission is $6, or free for full time college students with ID.
Fun for the Kids
Saturday, November 12
Santa Claus is coming to town! Beat the crowds and avoid standing in a long line this year by taking the kids to Colonie Center this Saturday. There will also be a number of kid-friendly activities going on, including a photobooth with Mrs. Claus, a chance to make magical reindeer food, face painting, and more.
Kids Cooking – Harry Potter Recipes
Saturday, November 12
Get into a Harry Potter mood this weekend by bringing your kids to the Serendipity Arts Studio in Saratoga for a Harry Potter-themed cooking class! Admission is $25, and the class is for ages seven and up; younger children are welcome with an adult to assist, otherwise you can feel free to drop off your kids and sneak in a little time for yourself! The little Harry Potter enthusiasts will be creating butterbeer and chocolate cauldron cakes.
