Friday, September 16 to Saturday, September 17
One of the largest Irish music festivals returns to the Saratoga County fairgrounds in Ballston Spa. You can expect Irish music ranging from Celtic punk and jams to traditional, and everything in between. Do bring the kids along for the Celtic kids area, featuring rides and games for the little ones. Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 at the gate on Friday; $18 in advance, $25 at the gate on Saturday; or, you can get a two-day pass for $29 in advance only.
24th Annual Clifton Park Farm Fest and Farm Fest Kick-off at the Library
Saturday, September 17
Get the fall season in Clifton Park started off right with the annual Farm Fest! Area farms open to the public for farm tours, apple picking, hayrides, horse rides, animals, country food, and festive music. This is a drive-it-yourself fall tour of farms and orchards in the area, with the following participants: Bowman Orchards, Riverview Orchards, Predel’s Ranch, Double B Farms, and Sheperd’s Hey Farm.
Before you head off to the farms, stop by the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library for a free breakfast of cider doughnuts, apples, juice, and coffee while supplies last. Local performer Diane Payette will be entertaining guests with farm-themed songs and stories, and Farm Fest information and maps will be available.
Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival
Saturday, September 17 to Sunday, September 18
It’s not really fall until the Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival kicks off! There’s something for everyone at this amazing two-day event – an arts and crafts show with vendors selling only high quality, local, handmade items; a farm market with apple products, fall vegetables, baked goods, and more; kids activities like face painting, pumpkin painting, a haunted house, jugglers and entertainers, bounces and slides, and pony rides; live music on both days; and a car show on Sunday only. Tickets are $8, and kids under 15 are free.

Friday, September 16
The popular rock band 3 Doors Down is performing at the Palace Theatre as part of their “Us and the Night” fall tour with special guests Pop Evil and Red Sun Rising. Tickets are still available and range in price from $35 to $80.

Comedian Jim Breuer, perhaps best known for his roles in Saturday Night Live and Half Baked, is performing at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Although he has made an appearance at this venue in prior years, he will be bringing brand new material and stories. With over 20 years of stand up comedy experience, it’s sure to be an awesome time! Tickets are $27; students get $3 off.
Saturday, September 17
Music and comedy come together with Weird Al, who is stopping in Schenectady to perform at Proctors as part of his Mandatory World Tour. If you want tickets to this show, move quickly! VIP packages are already sold out. Tickets range from $30 to $269.
Get Ready for Halloween

Staging Youths’ Future Inc. (Syfi Theater) presents The Addams Family at the newly renovated Cohoes City Music Hall with three showings: Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Saturday at 7pm. Get in the Halloween mood with one of your favorite spooky families in a way you’ve never seen them before! Tickets are $13 and can be purchased ahead of time on Ticketmaster.com.
Monster Party with David Soman – The Monster Next Door

Bring the little ones to this not-so-scary monster-themed event. Author David Soman will be at the Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga celebrating his new book, The Monster Next Door. Check out a drawing demonstration, a book signing, and a monster craft and scavenger hunt around the store.

In celebration of its 25th anniversary Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga is having a special Ghost in the Garden Party! See Yaddo’s famously haunted grounds through the eyes of people who found inspiration at these gardens. Tickets are $50.00 and include refreshments, entertainment, a raffle, and a silent auction.
