Friday, September 2 to Monday, September 5
The third oldest fair in the state is happening through the long weekend at the Schaghitcoke Fairgrounds. Live music and entertainers, a demolition derby, tractor pulls, animals, traditional carnival rides and games are all going on – and of course, the fantastic fair food! Admission is $11.00 for adults, with kids 13 and under free; ride tickets are separate.
Capital District Scottish Games
Saturday, September 3 to Sunday, September 4
The Scottish Games return to the Altamont Fairgrounds with music, dancers, bagpipes, a 5k race, and more. Admission is $22 on Saturday and $12 on Sunday, with children 12 and under free. Stage bands include The Brigadoons, Daimh, Kevin McKrell, Colin Grant-Adams, and Get Up Jack.
Fun with Fitness
Saturday, September 3
518 Break, a dance instruction studio on Barney Road in Clifton Park, is holding a fall open house. If you’ve ever thought about dabbling in break dance, now’s your chance to try it at no charge! This free event includes break dance performances from the instructors, a lesson on a few moves for attendees, snacks, and refreshments.
7th Annual Run/Walk for the Horses
Saturday, September 3
This certified 5k course begins at the Orenda Pavilion in Saratoga Spa State Park, and goes through the park. The race benefits six local nonprofits that rescue and provide second careers or homes for former racehorses. Prizes will be provided for all race/walk division, and there’s even a canine division! Refreshments are provided for all. Pre-race registration is $25, or $30 day-of.
SEFCU’s 28th Annual Labor Day 5k
Monday, September 5
Happening on Patroon Creek Boulevard in Albany, the Labor Day 5k proceeds go to nonprofit organizations that support veterans in the Capital Region. The entry fee is $15.00 for HMRRC members and SEFCU members, $20 in advance for the public, or $25 day-0f. There is also a 1-mile race for kids with an entry fee of just $1, which can only be purchased on race day. Trophies will be awarded to the first three male and female runners of each age group, and SEFCU 5k tee-shirts will be given to all participants. Fruit and drinks will be available at the end of the event.

Final Stretch Music Festival Weekend
Saturday, September 3 to Sunday, September 4
Labor Day weekend coincides with the end of track season, and downtown Saratoga goes all out with the ultimate music festival. Come and check out all the live performances, for free! Participating groups include Hot Club of Saratoga; 18 Strings of Trouble; Erin Harkes Band; Lost Wages; Bolton, Nolan & Green; Rich Ortiz; and Racing City Chorus.
Blink 182 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center
Sunday, September 4
The popular rock band is performing at SPAC, and tickets are still available! Don’t miss Mark Hoppus, Travis Bark, and Matt Skiba. Tickets start at $33 and are available on ticketsnow.com.
