The Altamont Fair is wrapping up this weekend, so it’s your last chance to get in on the fun! Check out the Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean, a high wire aerial thrill show that takes place every day, along with all the other exciting events: a horse show, racing pigs, lumberjack show, wine tasting, pulled pork contest, 4-H pet show, and so much more.
2. 10th Annual Clifton Park Elks Car, Truck, and Bike Show
Saturday, August 20
The Clifton Park Elks Lodge in Ballston Lake is holding its annual Car Show, with all years and makes of cars, trucks, and motorcycles welcome. Over 50 awards to registered vehicles will be handed out. Come check out the cars, enjoy music, get in on the 50/50 raffles, and chow down on some great food. Registration opens the morning of the show.
3. Chillin’ and Grillin’ – Who Has the Best BBQ?

Artisanal Brew Works in Saratoga is hosting a Chillin’ and Grillin’ barbecue. Bring your barbieĀ along with whatever you want to grill and get started. Categories are best ribs, best brisket, best chicken, best barbecue side dish, and best desserts. First prize is a growler filled with your choice of beverage!

The dynamic band Up All Night, made up of veterans from the Capital Region music scene, will be playing their good-time music at Freedom Park in Scotia as part of the Freedom Park Summer Concert series.
5. Tri-City ValleyCats vs. Hudson Valley Renegades: Pirates & Princesses Night

It’s Pirates and Princesses Night at The Joe as the ValleyCats take on the Renegades – be sure to dress up as a pirate or princess! TheĀ famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses will be making an appearance, and after the game ladies will have a chance to dig for a diamond treasure. Fireworks will top off the evening.
