Nothing beats fresh, locally-grown produce you can feel good about eating. And no one knows the joys of providing that to area locals better than the Petuske family. Running a popular Halfmoon farm stand every growing season, Petuske’s Produce has now expanded, cutting the ribbon on an additional location in Rexford tonight.
Having gotten their start operating from a picnic table in the 1970’s, Petuske’s Produce may never have guessed the future would grant them a growing base of such loyal customers, making a second location possible and seeing their own jellies and jams brand Pixie’s Preserves line the shelves of mainstream markets, including Price Chopper and Shop Rite, as well as local food co-ops and other local farm stands.
But what makes their offerings so appealing has to be the care and consideration that goes into each crop and batch, from beginning to end. From freshly picked strawberries and blueberries to plump tomatoes and jars upon jars of mouthwatering jams and jellies, love is the secret incredient!
The Petuskes sow, reap and inspect everything with the utmost of care, vowing never to put something on their shelves that they wouldn’t put on their own table. In fact, many customers feel a part of the family when they visit the stand.
Putuske’s Produce opened its new Rexford location last month at 1615 Route 146, and they celebrate with a ribbon cutting tonight at 5:30pm. It’s the perfect time to stop in and check them out if you’ve never been, and a wonderful opportunity to wish them congratulations for all their hard work.
Can’t make it tonight? The Rexford location is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday and 9am-4pm on weekends. In Halfmoon, they are located at 39 Halfmoon Drive and open from 8am-6pm weekdays and 8am-4pm weekends.
