The Cookie Factory’s Trail of Crumbs May Soon Lead to Clifton Park

Have a sweet-tooth? You’re in luck! The famous Cookie Factory of Troy may soon be opening a new satellite shop in the Clifton Park/Halfmoon area. The 2,000-square-foot shop will sell freshly baked goods at a strip mall near the intersection of Routes 9 and 146 if approved by the town Planning Board.

Why the Clifton Park/Halfmoon area? Saratoga County has become one of the fastest-growing counties in New York! Chris Alberino, co-owner of The Cookie Factory told the Albany Business Review, “There are a lot more families and a lot of new residential housing going up. They all have birthdays, anniversaries and parties, and they’re going to need cakes and cookies.”

He also reported that the Halfmoon/Clifton Park location would be similar to their shop in Troy with the amount of products sold (that’s good news for us!)  There will also be seating for customers to sit back and enjoy a fresh pastry. The Cookie Factory’s first satellite location opened last summer on Albany-Shaker Road in Loudonville and has been said to be doing well business-wise.

The Cookie Factory has been open for nearly nine years and is owned by Chris Alberino, and his brother, Joe. All of the baking takes place at their store on Congress Street, although that will change this weekend when they move to their newly renovated commercial kitchen near Russell Sage on River Street.  Their cookies are sold at hundreds of locations, including local Price Chopper and Hannaford stores.
