About this event

Bronx-born comedian Bethany Van Delft moved to Boston with her Dutch father and Puerto Rican mother, where she quickly learned that standing out could be a superpower. After a brief modeling stint in Europe, cut short when she was kicked out of Paris, she landed in Milan, spending Sundays eating gelato and speaking Spanglish with an Italian accent.

Bethany’s laid-back, grounded delivery has earned her spots at top comedy festivals including Just for Laughs, SF Sketchfest, and Boston Calling. She’s opened for comedy heavyweights like Michelle Buteau, Michael Che, and Phoebe Robinson, and produces several acclaimed comedy shows in Boston. Her debut album “I’m Not a Llama” hit #2 on iTunes, and she was named Boston Magazine’s “Best Comic” in 2019.

A regular host of The Moth’s StorySlams and GrandSlams, Bethany’s powerful story on postpartum depression, “Light & Hope,” reached 15 million viewers and was featured in “The Moth: All These Wonders.” She’s also a passionate advocate for her daughter with Down syndrome, earning the 2017 Patricia Blake Parent Advocacy Award and delivering keynotes nationwide on storytelling and family advocacy.

Bethany currently hosts iHeartRadio’s “The Ten News” and co-hosts the NOVA/PBS digital series “PARENTALOGIC.” Somehow, she balances it all while keeping her kids, husband (and sense of humor) intact. Also, she bakes pretty well.
