The Bookmark Bunch: Kung Pow Chicken: Let's Get Cracking

About this event

In February, we'll read Kung Pow Chicken: Let's Get Cracking, by Cyndi Marko, about a chicken who turns into a rooster superhero. Then, we'll meet a real, live rooster with environmental educator George Steele. Every child receives a bookmark and a book to take home and keep reading. Please register online.

What to Expect

• Participants are not expected to read the book beforehand.
• The librarian will lead the group for the first 30 minutes in sampling the book, reading the first several chapters and looking over features like covers and pictures.
• Participants may choose to take turns reading or listen to others read.
• Participants will meet a wildlife educator and animal for the last 30 minutes of the program.
• Caregivers will stay in the room during the program.

• Room may be moderately busy (Registration open to 12 children).
• Bright overhead lights.
• Rooster will likely be loud.

• Noise cancelling headphones and fidgets are welcome. A limited number is available to use during the program or bring your own.
