The 20th Annual Albany Santa Speedo Sprint

The Albany Santa Speedo Sprint celebrates its 20th year in 2025 and remains the second oldest event of its kind in the country. The Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy, joined by the Albany All-Stars and the Hellions of Troy, once again hosts this signature holiday run in support of two local causes. Net proceeds benefit the Albany Damien Center and the HIV/AIDS program at Albany Medical Center.

This year’s sprint takes place Saturday, December 13, 2025. Participants can register at Oh Bar or LionHeart beginning at 11 a.m. The 800-meter run starts at 2 p.m. The first 175 registrants receive a complimentary event t-shirt. To guarantee a specific size, registration must be completed by November 15, 2025. Pre-registered participants may pick up their shirt or pre-ordered sweatshirt at LionHeart on race day. Sweatshirt orders must also be placed by November 15.

Two awards will be presented this year. The Matthew Peter Sprint of the Sprint Award returns for its second year and recognizes the most festive team of runners. New for 2025 is the Nora Esposito Award, which honors the individual or team that raises the most money for the designated charities.
