Kids' Quiet Reading Hour

About this event

Caregivers and siblings are welcome to join with their own books. There will be juice boxes and fruit snacks! Registration is not required, but space is limited based on room capacity.

What to Expect:

• Participants will sit and read silently; quiet talking for questions or urgent matters is permitted, but conversation is not encouraged.
• Multiple seating options will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
• Juice boxes and fruit snacks will be provided; outside snacks are allowed, but do your best not to spill or get food on library book pages.
• Library books in the room will be suggestions pulled by children's librarians; a librarian will be present for reader's advisory.

Sensory Information:

• Bright overhead lights.
• Ambient nature sounds will be playing over a speaker at low volume.

Supports:

• Noise-cancelling headphones and fidgets are available.
• Participants can quietly leave and re-enter the room as needed.
