The Empire Skate Plaza is open for the 2025-2026 season at the Empire State Plaza Ice Skating Rink in Albany. Skating is free for all visitors, and the rink is open daily with the exception of Mondays.
Regular Hours of Operation
- Tuesday through Friday sessions run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday sessions are held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Holiday Hours
From December 23 through January 4, the rink follows the weekend schedule of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The rink will close early at 5:00 p.m. on December 24 and December 31. Please note the rink is closed on December 25 and December 29.
Rink Services and Amenities
Skate rentals are available for 5 dollars. A photo ID is required, and sizes range from child size 8 to adult size 15.
The glass pavilion adjacent to the rink offers 25 cent locker rentals and refreshments.
