The buildings that embody the original property-the Queen Anne mansion, large livestock shelter, carriage house, and outbuildings were constructed in 1900 by George D. Sherman, who made a hobby of building large, beautiful houses in this style, for which he hired craftsmen who had been trained in Europe. Their beauty & uniqueness were a labor of love and for years it was a family home. In 2012, the current owner opened it as a B&B to share his love of skiing, biking, hiking, boating and wildlife viewing with others.
