Holiday shoppers rejoice! This Friday, November 1st, a new Walmart Neighborhood Market will open in Niskayuna, NY. The Walmart store, located at 3429 State St will celebrate its opening with a ribbon cutting at 7:30 am and will be open 7:00 am to 11 pm seven days a week.
The 40,000 square foot store will bring up to 95 new jobs to the Niskayuna area and will serve the community with convenient grocery shopping, home products, and a pharmacy.
As a new addition to the Mansion Square complex, the store will be the first Walmart Neighborhood Market in upstate New York.
The Walmart Neighborhood Market model is smaller than the typical Walmart Supercenter but offers the same convenience of a full grocery department. With organic and natural food selections, prepared food, fresh baked bread, self-serve deli, and bakery, the Niskayuna store is tailored to the community it serves.
Local Walmart shoppers can order products online with the Site-to-Store service, process digital photos, and purchase health & beauty, pet, hardware, and stationary products.
The pharmacy will serve the community by handling prescriptions, answering product questions, and helping customers find health and wellness solutions.
Like all national Walmart stores, the Niskayuna Walmart Neighborhood Market will donate to fight hunger in America. Walmart and the Walmart foundation donated over $20.2 million in the 2013 year to New York alone.
This Saturday, meet the store manager Juan Rivera, who has worked with Walmart since 2001, at the Big Family Welcome event. On Saturday, November 2nd, residents are welcome to celebrate the store opening and enjoy family activities from noon to 3 pm.
Will we see you at the Niskayuna Walmart Neighborhood Market picking up supplies for holiday cookie baking? Or maybe you’ll be printing your seasonal photo greeting cards?
