A new fitness movement is taking the country by storm and Albany CrossFit and CrossFit Clifton Park are in on the action. The 90-day diet and fitness challenge changes the way people think about nutrition, health and fitness and 120 CrossFit members are signed up.
Now halfway through the program, Jason Ackerman, owner of both CrossFit locations has announced that the challenge has already exceeded expectations.
“We’ve been completely blown away by the results to date” Ackerman said. “I can’t believe the life the challenge has taken on. Our members have banded together to form a remarkable support system.”
Challenge participants record improvements in diet, athletic performance and body composition and blog about their experiences. They take before and after pictures and track improvements in benchmark workouts.
Winners will receive free memberships and prizes when the competition ends on April 1, 2012.
Need more motivation? This weekend Albany CrossFit will host a CrossFit Tristate Throwdown with more than 200 athletes from New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts competing for over $2,500 in cash and prizes.
There is something about working toward a goal when you know that 119 other people are on the same path. And getting a prize too!? I’m not sure motivation gets any better than that.
