About this event

Beginning Nature Photography is an 8-part photography course, led by local artist and educator Susan Meyer.  The program will be open to 20 participants, ages 16 & up. Initial meetings will occur at the Schuylerville Public Library, with later meetings at nearby Hudson Crossing Park to explore techniques.  Classes will be held on Saturdays from May 3 through June 28, except for May 24.

Instructor, Susan Meyer has been photographing nature for decades. Her nature photography is displayed on the Empire State Trail in Schuylerville (the Towpath). She's also received numerous awards in the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor photo contests, including first place in 2020. Susan will display examples of her work and review topics like composition, lighting, recommended gear, filters, tips on nature settings, and editing and printing. People may participate with whatever type of camera they have, but the focus and instruction will be on DSLR (digital) cameras, with some info provided on iphone cameras.  Participants will be invited to print and frame a photo from the class to display at the Library for the summer, with an art show exhibit on July 19 at 11am.  Register at svl.libcal .com
