Waterford, NY

The Town of Waterford, New York, is conveniently located just 23 miles from Saratoga Springs and Clifton Park, NY, and just 12 miles north of Albany. The quaint village boasts the distinction of the oldest continuously incorporated village in the United States.

Still holding on to a strong 19th century charm and a feeling of familiarity, Waterford is rooted in the middle of much urban and suburban growth. With much historic architecture, especially in the downtown area, Waterford’s gradual growth has resulted in many newer homes and nice neighborhoods.

There are several beautiful parks in Waterford, but the Peebles Island State Park, located at the convergence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers offers many opportunities for outdoor activities, from jogging to cross country skiing. The town also hosts an annual Tugboat Roundup and Steamboat Meet, Pumpkinfest, and Waterford/RiverSpark Canal Festival.

The town has several non-chain casual dining restaurants, boutiques, and small businesses. Waterford-Halfmoon is the primary school district, with a small portion of the town belonging to the Shenendehowa School District.

A paper mill, chemicals and materials company, and tissue product company, along with a couple of state department offices, operate out of Waterford NY and serve as a few of the largest employers in Saratoga County.

Consider real estate in Waterford NY for its small town appeal! Close to Albany and Saratoga Spring’s large shopping districts and restaurants, you can have the best of both worlds!
