About this event

Annual Cynthia Shenker Memorial Speaker - Dr. Margaret Gatti-Mays, Assistant Professor at the James Comprehensive Cancer Center, in the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.  Dr. Gatti-Mays is also a member of the Pelotonia Institute for ImmunoOncology. 

Dr. Gatti-Mays is a nationally recognized physician scientist and assistant professor in the Division of Medical Oncology where she specializes in breast cancer, immunotherapy, and early phase clinical trials. She received her Master's Degree of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University and her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine where she also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Resident. Additionally, Dr. Gatti-Mays completed a Fellowship, in Medical Oncology, at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health.

As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James and the Pelotonia Institute of Immuno-Oncology, Dr. Gatti-Mays' clinical research is focused on finding ways to use immunotherapy in breast cancer through evaluating novel immunotherapy agents and designing innovative clinical trials. In addition to her clinical and research work, she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and active in the Society for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Gatti-Mays' presentations will be followed by a Q&A.

Breast cancer patients and survivors, adult family members, friends, caregivers, and healthcare professionals and researchers are welcome to participate. The program is offered free of charge, but advance registration is required.
