Clifton Park native Tiffany Dawn’s book “The Insatiable Quest For Beauty” has gained traction as the author has spent the past six months traveling across country speaking at colleges, churches, high schools, youth events and eating disorder clinics.
Less than a year ago the book did not even exist and recently has risen as high as number 275,723 out of the several million books sold on Amazon. While, this placement may not sound amazing, the reality is that for a privately published book to reach this ranking in only a few months is truly amazing.
“The next step is to get it into the hands of physical book stores,” says Tiffany.

Lake Luzerne, NY – June 1, 2012 – The Double H Ranch announces that through a generous financial donation from the Christopher Dailey Foundation the Deer Camper Cabin has been renovated in advance of the Summer 2012 season. Funding from this grant totaling $55,000 was awarded for the renovation of a camper cabin as well as funding campers from Saratoga County to attend the Double H Summer Residential Program.
The Double H Ranch will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday June 14, 2012 at 4:30-5:30 pm to celebrate the opening of the renovated cabin. Clifton Park, NY: Nursery School (the "Little Red Schoolhouse") will be holding its 3rd Annual Lemonade Stand to benefit the Hannah's Hope Fund on Tuesday, June 12th between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon. There will be a concert by local performer Diana Payette (also known as Grama Tippy-Toes) and the students from the nursery school (ages 2-4) will be selling lemonade and baked goods at the nursery school (344 Moe Road in Clifton Park).
The school is donating 100% of the proceeds that they make to the Hannah's Hope Fund.

Clifton Park, NY - The Clifton Park Nuresry School (CPNS), a not-for-profit cooperative nursery school, will hold its 17th Annual Goods and Services Auction on Saturday, March 24 from 4pm to 8pm. This year's auction will be held at the Vista at Van Patten Golf Club located in Clifton Park, NY.
The fundraising auction is held annually order to help raise money for repairs and maintenance of the school. Saratoga Bridges is pleased to announce Richard Hines of Clifton Park as the winner of a limited Raffle for 2 passes to the 2011 Masters Golf Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA held last week. The agency held their drawing on March 14 which generated close to $8,000 (net) for vital programs and services.
The golf experience included private plane from Albany on April 6, chance to play at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, SC, dinner, hotel, tickets for the tourney on April 7 and shuttle transportation. These hard to obtain tickets were generously donated by Relph Benefit Advisors.

Clifton Park, NY - The Town of Clifton Park Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs has announced that beginning Friday, July 30, membership fees to all three town pools will be half price. This change is typically made on August 1, but since that date falls on a weekend, Town Supervisor Phil Barrett has opened up half-price memberships on the Friday prior to August 1.
For the last month of the season, pool membership will be $60 for an individual, $95 for a couple and $127.50 for a family. Children ages 3 and under are free when a parent is a member.
The pools are located on Burning Bush Blvd. in the Country Knolls development, Locust Lane and Barney Road, both in the Clifton Knolls development.

Has anyone tried the newest casual restaurant in Clifton Park NY, Peddlers Bar & Bistro?
This late-night spot serves all the classics. Appetizers including wings, sliders, calamari, ect., burgers, sandwiches, among other entrees. Drinks - including 10 beers on draft and a large wine selection are also served. And last but not least, the bar is surrounded by 16 TVs.
Peddlers is open until 4 a.m. and food is served until 3:30 a.m.

Ballston Spa, NY - The Saratoga County Fair announces today that six $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to current New York State high school seniors and also students enrolled in college who are pursuing a degree in a field related to agriculture, fair management or the outdoor amusement business.
The New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs and the New York State Showpeople’s Association sponsor the scholarships.
The qualifying students must be active at the Saratoga County Fair. All applicants from Saratoga County must submit their applications through Saratoga County Fair no later than Friday, April 9, 2010.
Information is available at the Saratoga County Fair office, 162 Prospect Street, Ballston Spa, NY, 12020, through Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County and from local high school offices. Applications must be printed and completed from the web at www.nyfairs.org.

CLIFTON PARK, NY—Capital Region residents wanting to help the victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti will have an opportunity to attend a benefit concert for “To Love A Child” Haiti Mission at Northern Lights, Route 146 in Clifton Park on Saturday, January 30th from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The January 12th earthquake devastated Haiti killing perhaps hundreds of thousands of people and leaving thousands of children as orphans.
Members of the Capital Region-based organization “To Love a Child” have been to Haiti bringing various supplies including first aid kits, newborn and birthing kits, clean drinking water, clothes, shoes and other essentials to the children from the Orphanage of Good Will in Port-au-Prince and a school in the nearby town of Hantlamouhaie.
While the orphanage in Port-au-Prince was destroyed by the earthquake all 29 children survived and are now living under a tarp near the street.

Clifton Park, NY – Vendors are needed for the town’s third‐annual “Ladies Night Out” event sponsored by the Town of Clifton Park Office of Parks, Recreation & Community Affairs.
Ladies Night Out will be held at the beautifully restored Historic Grooms Tavern located on the corners of Grooms and Sugarhill Roads in Clifton Park on November 18, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m.
We are looking for individuals who would normally hold house parties to demonstrate and showcase their products. This will be a wonderful opportunity for local residents to start their holiday shopping!
Space is limited. As an historic building, Grooms Tavern has several small rooms which will be utilized in this event. Set up space will be limited, ranging from 5’x10’ to 7’x12’. One table with linens and two chairs will be provided for each vendor.
